There are fifty three tribal Communities living in Kerala. Each of them is entirely different in their Culture and Language Traditionally. The official Language of Kerala is Malayalam. But the real fact is some tribes like paniya, Irula, Muduga etc. possess their own languages with separate identity. Hill tribes like Palliyars and Hill Pulayas Speaks Tamil as their mother tongue. Some communities living in the northern part of Kerala speaks Kannada. About 60 percent of tribal languages differ from Malayalam only in vocabulary where the grammatical laws are the same. Aim of the paper presented is to analyse the linguistic status of Kerala tribes.
